Renaissance St. Petersburg Baltic Hotel is located in the city centre directly across from St. Isaacâs Square. The history of the building goes back to the middle of the 18th century. It was the private residence of Mikhail Yakovlev, a school friend of Alexander Pushkin, famous Russian poet. Then the building changed hands and before the revolution was owned by the famous wine trader Henrich Lepen, who sold French and Spanish wine under the âF.Raulâ trade mark.The Hotel is surrounded by the cityâs main attractions which include the Hermitage museum, the Admiralty, the Mariinsky theatre and the Yusupov Palace.
