City Center
Bernini Palace hotel is a refined, nice and comfortable hotel; plunged in the magic atmosphere of the old Florence of Medici. Originally a 14th century palazzo, the Hotel Bernini is located in Florence's historic centre, right behind Piazza della Signoria - just a stone's throw from the Uffizi and Florence's main historical attractions. Built according to the classic Florentine architectural style, with string-course cornices along the walls and wooden shutters giving it a charming antique flavour. Paintings and antique prints create a warm, sumptuous atmosphere. Bernini Palace is proud of celebrities including Marcello Mastroianni, George Clooney, Winona Ryder, Claudia Schiffer, Pedro Almodovar. Towards the middle of the 19th century, this building, infused with a magical Medici atmosphere, housed the plush "Albergo dello Scudo". Between 1865 and 1870 it was the seat of the Parliament of the young Kingdom of Italy. After this prestigious interlude, the name of the hotel was changed several times, once even housing the famous Doney restaurant.
